NC Exterior Services Pressure Washing Disclosure

At NC Exterior Services, we are committed to providing high-quality pressure washing services to homeowners in North Carolina. However, as with any service, there are certain risks and responsibilities associated with pressure washing that our customers should be aware of. This Disclosure document outlines those risks, safety precautions, and customer obligations to ensure a safe and effective service.
Nature of Pressure Washing Services
Our pressure washing services are designed to clean and restore the exterior surfaces of your home, including but not limited to:
Siding (vinyl, wood, brick, etc.)
Concrete driveways, walkways, and patios
Decks, fences, and other outdoor structures
Roofs (if included in service offering)
Pressure washing uses high-pressure water to remove dirt, debris, mold, mildew, and stains from these surfaces. The use of high-pressure water can cause damage if not applied correctly or if certain precautions are not taken.
Potential Risks and Damages
While pressure washing is generally safe when performed by professionals, it is important to understand the potential risks, including:
Surface Damage: High-pressure water can damage delicate surfaces such as wooden decks, painted surfaces, or older siding materials. We take care to adjust pressure settings to match the material being cleaned; however, we are not liable for any pre-existing damage, wear, or deterioration of surfaces.
Water Intrusion: If not properly controlled, pressure washing could force water into cracks or crevices, potentially causing water intrusion into the home, particularly in areas where siding, roofs, or windows have existing vulnerabilities. We recommend performing a thorough inspection of these areas prior to service.
Vegetation Damage: The pressure washing chemicals and water used during the cleaning process may affect nearby plants, lawns, or landscaping. If you have sensitive plants near the work area, please inform us beforehand so we can take necessary precautions.
Falling Debris: Pressure washing may dislodge dirt, loose paint, mold, or other debris, which can fall or splash onto the ground or nearby surfaces. We will take steps to minimize this risk, but please be aware that there may be residual debris left behind.
Accidents and Injuries: While rare, accidents can occur during pressure washing. For safety reasons, we recommend that pets and children remain indoors or at a safe distance during the service.
Customer Responsibilities
As the property owner, you are responsible for the following:
Pre-Service Preparation: Ensure that all outdoor furniture, grills, planters, and other movable objects are removed from the area to be cleaned. We are not responsible for any items left in the area that may be damaged during service.
Disclosure of Pre-Existing Issues: Please notify us of any known issues with your property, such as cracks in the siding, roof leaks, or areas with loose paint or fixtures. If you have concerns about a specific surface or area, we recommend a consultation before the service.
Access to Property: Ensure that our team has safe access to all areas to be cleaned. If your property is gated or requires special permission to access, please inform us in advance.
Special Requests: If you have specific areas that need attention or if you prefer to use environmentally-friendly cleaning agents, please inform us ahead of time. We will accommodate your preferences whenever possible.
Post-Service Care: After pressure washing, some surfaces may require maintenance to maintain their appearance or prevent water damage. We recommend keeping the area dry and allowing sufficient drying time for surfaces that were cleaned.
Chemical Use Disclosure
In certain cases, we may use detergents, cleaning agents, or environmentally friendly solutions to enhance the cleaning process. All chemicals we use are professionally formulated for pressure washing purposes and are applied in a safe manner. If you have concerns regarding chemical use, please let us know before we begin the service. We can discuss and provide alternative cleaning options upon request.
Limitations of Liability
By scheduling and accepting our pressure washing services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
No Warranty for Pre-Existing Conditions: We do not provide a warranty for pre-existing damage to surfaces or structures on your property. If there is any pre-existing damage, the pressure washing process may exacerbate the condition, and we cannot be held responsible for this.
No Guarantee of Complete Removal of Stains: While pressure washing is effective at removing dirt, stains, and other debris, some stains (e.g., oil, rust, etc.) may not be fully removable due to the nature of the stain and the surface material.
Limited Liability for Damage: Our liability for damage caused during the pressure washing process is limited to the cost of the service provided. We are not liable for damages resulting from any pre-existing conditions, failure to notify us of issues, or customer negligence.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service or stop the service at any time if we determine that it would not be safe or effective. This may include situations where a surface is too fragile or if weather conditions pose a safety risk (e.g., high winds, lightning, etc.).
Consent to Proceed
